We are Stephen and Fionnuala and this is our story. We live in Northern Ireland, have been married for 17 years and have three kids - Adam, Hannah and Rebecca. We hope that our story will inspire and encourage others. We have walked a rocky road yet here we are today, together and stronger than ever. We are far from perfect and our faith has been battered and bruised. But an untested faith is a pointless faith. Just as a fractured faith is better than none at all. We hope you enjoy the blog.

  1. You’ll make it, I’m sure of it. I finally passed my black belt at 47 with two broken toes, it lasted for 3 hours which included physical strength (75 push-ups in a row without stopping and 60 sit-ups in 1 minute and more) Sparing in the ring for 12 minutes in a row with 6 different fighters, techniques of punches and kicks and two 4 minutes rounds of Brazilian jujitsu. I don’t how I made, it but I did. Some younger fighters didn’t. What I am trying to say is that you have the will, It shows and showed in your posts. My opinion is that half of it is willpower and the rest is training. You will make and you’ll feel so proud of yourself because you went outside your comfort zone which I believe is more difficult for us.

  2. So exciting. Here in the states we pick them up the day before the race. If we have them mailed they want somewhere around twenty bucks to do it. Elcheapo here always picks them! Looking forward to hearing about it!
