Where is the God of my Father
Who rescued the lame and the blind?
Where is the God of my Father
Who poured healing oil on my mind?
Kill the will
Take the pill
Numb the thrill
Make me still.
Synaptic relapse
Serotonin collapse
Raging impasse
Stifling morass.
So taste the drill
Run the mill
Surgeons skill
Make me still.
Where is the God of my Father
Now that I’m naked and numb?
Where is the God of my Father
Alone on a slab, splayed and shunned?

We are Stephen and Fionnuala and this is our story. We live in Northern Ireland, have been married for 17 years and have three kids - Adam, Hannah and Rebecca.
We hope that our story will inspire and encourage others. We have walked a rocky road yet here we are today, together and stronger than ever. We are far from perfect and our faith has been battered and bruised.
But an untested faith is a pointless faith. Just as a fractured faith is better than none at all.
We hope you enjoy the blog.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for your welfare and not calamity, Then you will call upon me and I will listen to you and you will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:11-12
Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am there you may also be.
John 14:1-3
And be content with such things as you have for He has said I will never leave you or forsake you.
Hebrews 13:5-6
Be strong and of good courage, don’t be afraid, neither be thou greatly troubled for the Lord your God is with you.
Joshua 1:9
I have loved you with an everlasting love.
Jeremiah 31:3
For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God and the dead in Christ will rise first then we which are alive and remain with be caught up together with them in the air and so we will be forever more with the Lord.

Fascinating expression of raw emotion and suffering. I’m glad you decided to read the gospel of Luke, the physician. He has a lot to say about suffering and the healing that Jesus did. God bless you as you seek Him.

When I write I tend to know if it is any good or not. This my brother is good. I love the way you wrapped the beginning back on the end and closed with it. It gave it style. It also speaks volumes about the human struggle to believe in something greater than what we can feel, see or explain way. It fits well with the name of your post, Fracture Faith. I believe a lot of folks out here have a more fractured view of faith than just you or I. We believe, yes but there are those parts we don’t understand and that is just being human I think. I would love to see more of your poetry.
