There Is Always Hope

Being a total dork, I was studying our WordPress stats the other day and discovered the blog recently passed 200,000 views since its creation just over two years ago. Wow! And I’ll say that again. Wow! I still remember nervously tapping out my first post, ‘The Bag Lady,’ before hitting the publish button and sending it out into the great unknown. Back then, double figure views were a major cause for celebration.

I know figures aren’t everything but they reflect the impact and scope of the blog which means more to me than all the tea in China. I don’t make a penny from it and it’s an advertisement free zone. All I want to do is entertain and help people. My only message is that there is always HOPE. Even at your lowest ebb when there seems to be no conceivable comeback. Thank you each and every one of you.

For believing in me, because I believe in you.

We are Stephen and Fionnuala and this is our story. We live in Northern Ireland, have been married for 17 years and have three kids - Adam, Hannah and Rebecca. We hope that our story will inspire and encourage others. We have walked a rocky road yet here we are today, together and stronger than ever. We are far from perfect and our faith has been battered and bruised. But an untested faith is a pointless faith. Just as a fractured faith is better than none at all. We hope you enjoy the blog.

  1. Your genuineness and sincerity always come through, and can really be felt. Thanks to you for being such a wonderful, caring, human, encouraging presence here for all of us. By the way I’m still at the point where just one view of my written or listen to my audio blog post is cause for celebration. It’s all relative, I guess. Again, thanks to you and your lovely family for being here.

  2. Hey I resemble that remark. I’ll be called a dork. I do stats every morning. I really wish they would recognize locations in a country, but that would get a little busy. You are one of my UK viewers for example.

  3. Congratulations and thank you so much for the encouragement. My wife calls me a dork also and advises her single daughter that she should try to find a dork also as she navigates the dating pool. Not sure she (the stepdaughter) is buying it.

  4. That’s fantastic Stephen! I’m not surprised. I think you are accomplishing your goals of entertaining and helping people. At least that’s been true for me. I’m grateful to know you in the blogging world. God bless you and your family.
