I passed 20,000 words on my new book over the weekend, the sequel to my first novel, ‘The Kirkwood Scott Chronicles: Skelly’s Square,’ which was released in July. It’s received great reviews and is available to buy now on Amazon in e book and paperback format. Or utterly free if you’re a Kindle Unlimited customer. Like my words? Then check it out and help me make my writing dream a reality. Thank you!

We are Stephen and Fionnuala and this is our story. We live in Northern Ireland, have been married for 17 years and have three kids - Adam, Hannah and Rebecca. We hope that our story will inspire and encourage others. We have walked a rocky road yet here we are today, together and stronger than ever. We are far from perfect and our faith has been battered and bruised. But an untested faith is a pointless faith. Just as a fractured faith is better than none at all. We hope you enjoy the blog. I have had your book for awhile now, but I just can’t find the time to read any of the books I’ve purchased recently. I’m sorry I haven’t read it yet. I am looking forward to it and I will let you know once I do. Winter is coming, so hopefully I can get more time to read. God bless!

Thanks! I know we will like each other’s books. Yours is a supernatural fiction. Mine is a supernatural non-fiction. 🙂 Blessings my Irish brother!

So what was the word count on the first one and what is your goal for the second one? I still think you could do something with Bomb Girl also.

Around 130,000. Book 2 will be as long as it needs to be.

Hello and congratulations on 20,000! That’s what I wrote for my MA dissertation so I know it’s the long haul.
I’d really appreciate a synopsis – perhaps you’ve posted one already?? – as I like to know what to expect. I enjoy Stephen King, Margaret Atwood, film Sixth Sense in the futuristic/supernatural genre so I’m intrigued.
Find reading fiction very difficult (despite degrees in Eng Lit) but reading something written by someone I ‘know’ kind of inspires me. Don’t want the whole blurb, just a sentence or two would do.
Thanks.

I will check it out!
But if i may, can i ask you why would you like to make writing a way of living? is there a deeper reason in particular? i’m curious! (you may have already disclosed this but i’m quite new to the scene, sorry if you have already).
Keep up the good work.

Thank you for considering the book. It’s just a hobby which has developed. I have a good job, it’s just a dream I’ve had.

If I had the money I would buy a copy, but at the moment I don’t even have enough money for food. If I’m ever richer in the future I get a copy.

Don’t worry Joanne. I know you would if you could. Unfortunately I was only provided with enough complimentary copies to give to beta readers who completed the book. I’m sorry I couldn’t include you.

Yes! I’ve read it and enjoyed it thoroughly. I think I mentioned in an earlier comment that I have never really been drawn to the fantasy genre, so ordered your book only out of an affection for you personally. Along the way though I found myself on a wild and engaging journey. Thank you for that!
