Would You Like To See More Of My Creative Side?

I’ve been mulling this over for a while but am thinking of putting more of my fiction writing on the blog. It’s where most of my creative energies are focused at the minute as I’ve been blasting away at Book 2 for over a month now and have passed the 31,000 word mark. Disappearing into the Kirkwood Scott Universe also allows me to temporarily escape from the disappointments and doubt which I’ve written about in recent posts.

I’m also conscious that not everyone can afford to buy Book 1 in the series so it’s an opportunity to showcase my work for free, to those who would like to check out my work. It’s also a taster, a ‘try before you buy’ for those who may be interested in the book but want to see what all the fuss is about before they decide whether or not to part with their hard earned cash. I totally get that.

So, what do you think? If it’s a yaay I propose to relaunch my short story series ‘Bomb Girl’ prior to posting some new chapters of it in serialised format. I’ve parked up the adventures of Ariana Hennessy for several months but her story has been incessantly seeping back into my thinking of late. Predominantly, that Kirkwood and Ariana are part of the same universe and may meet some day. Shock! Horror!!

Please comment below with your comments, thoughts and suggestions. This blog is the cornerstone of my writing platform and I really value your opinions. It was the encouragement of fellow bloggers that convinced me to start Book 1 and dragged me kicking and screaming through the many dark points of that journey. Take two minutes to comment below. Thank you very much for your time.

Would you like to see more of my creative side?

We are Stephen and Fionnuala and this is our story. We live in Northern Ireland, have been married for 17 years and have three kids - Adam, Hannah and Rebecca. We hope that our story will inspire and encourage others. We have walked a rocky road yet here we are today, together and stronger than ever. We are far from perfect and our faith has been battered and bruised. But an untested faith is a pointless faith. Just as a fractured faith is better than none at all. We hope you enjoy the blog.

  1. First of all, I had to admit that I wish I had enough creativity to write an entire story! Some days I find it hard just to write a blog entry! I have often referred to my blog as the “autobiography I’ll never get around to writing”. That being said, I would certainly like to read more of your work. Thanks for willingly offering up your work here for us to read.

Best of luck with Book 2!

  2. Good morning from Wales with a resounding Yes Please!
Taster Chapter starters – perhaps? – to whet the appetite would appeal to me. Just enough to get into your genre and style.
I also love the immediacy of short stories, especially for reading online when eyes can object to too much screen time.
Thank you for suggesting the idea and being so open to sharing your words. x

  3. Although I’m a rather new follower, I have thoroughly enjoyed what you’ve shared in terms of realness and vulnerability as well as your style and perspective. The fact that you have this other side to you blows my mind! How is that one person hold so much creativeness within them?!!! On that note, I’d love to be introduced to your other world, the world that seems to make your heart beat just a tick faster! 🙂

P.S. I hope you won’t abandon what you’ve created here altogether though. I like that your posts make me think and ponder precious things in life.

  4. After reading your novel, I started reading fiction again after decades of not reading fiction. I have to say, I really like the worldview(s) that you infuse into your story, which I haven’t really found elsewhere. So I would really enjoy more from you. I know you’ve posted Bomb Girl chapters before but I’m not going to find them – could you possibly post them under their own heading on your site? Thanks

  5. I would love whatever you would be willing to share. I would love to know more of your fantasy writing. I’m personally in the boat where I cannot afford to splurge on your book (though if I get spare change you would be among the top places I would love to show with my dollar who I support). So if you would make more of your content available for free, that would be a blessing for me.

I so enjoy diving into your mind. Your connection with Reality is beautiful. I would love even more to dive into the world of your fanciful imagination and see how you take your unique perspective and create something otherwordly with it.
