Here’s today’s long run. I’ll be posting these as I work towards Belfast Marathon 2020 which is a mere six months away. Today involved four loops of my village in perfect autumnal conditions. I was happy with my pace and stamina which I maintained despite a niggly knee which has been bothering me for several weeks now. I think the extra .4 miles were all the puddles and slippery leaves I had to negotiate.

We are Stephen and Fionnuala and this is our story. We live in Northern Ireland, have been married for 17 years and have three kids - Adam, Hannah and Rebecca. We hope that our story will inspire and encourage others. We have walked a rocky road yet here we are today, together and stronger than ever. We are far from perfect and our faith has been battered and bruised. But an untested faith is a pointless faith. Just as a fractured faith is better than none at all. We hope you enjoy the blog. That’s impressive. I wish I had the motivation to run outside in my neighborhood. But I live in the High Desert, CA, and I’m mainly eating dirt most of the time. 😂 That’s my excuse anyway. Keep going. 👍 🌹

Ran Belfast some years back so it may have changed. Remember running through the open gates of the peace wall. Also remember a long steep hill on leaving the city with a short drop back down to sea level. You should love it if prepared, crowds were fantastic.

Yes, I’ve ran Belfast three times now. That long steep hill is the Antrim Road but they changed the route this year, apparently making it flatter and faster.
