It’s Christmas πŸŽ„

Christmas has well and truly arrived at chez Black with Fionnuala’s creative talents to the fore. She made many of these decorations herself and has worked incredibly hard infusing a festive spirit throughout the house. She’s a terrific mummy making sure the kids will have fond memories of their holidays at home. When do you put your Christmas decorations up? Comment below πŸŽ„

We are Stephen and Fionnuala and this is our story. We live in Northern Ireland, have been married for 15 years and have three kids - Adam, Hannah and Rebecca. We hope that our story will inspire and encourage others. We have walked a rocky road yet here we are today, together and stronger than ever. We are far from perfect and our faith has been battered and bruised. But an untested faith is a pointless faith. Just as a fractured faith is better than none at all. We hope you enjoy the blog.

  1. Wow! Your wife is one talented lady. I don’t normally put my decorations up until around the 10th December but this year I’ve done it already. I got everything out of the loft yesterday. I was in need of some fairy lights in my life πŸ˜‚

    1. p.s. The little soldiers that you have remind me of the soldiers the Bronte children received as a gift from their father. They then started making up stories influenced by the battle of Waterloo and the Duke of Wellington (hints of Kirkwood there). I’ve also just found out that the great C.S. Lewis was born in Belfast! Oh my goodness, I always thought he was an English writer. *blush*

  3. Your halls are decked, so pretty! Fionnuala is very talented. I always start decorating the day after Thanksgiving and it takes me several days. I could sure use Fionnuala’s talent and expertise.

  4. Decoration are beautiful! And I love the candy bar tree! What a neat idea! Normally we don’t put our tree up until after Thanksgiving but this year we put it up early and I’m really enjoying it each evening.

I think we’ll come to your house for Christmas πŸ˜›

I think the children and I will decorate on the weekend… but only if they let me have a three hour Christmas music marathon πŸ˜‰

  6. Wow, Fionnuala is so talented! And she’s a wonderful mother to take the time to create beautiful memories for your children. We’ve just put up our tree but the decorations seem to go missing bit by bit. Our toddler seems to be posting them around the house. I’ll be finding baubles in every nook and cranny well past Xmas day.
