Sometimes maintaining the status quo is a massive achievement in itself. Getting by is all you can manage, keeping your head above water and surviving your current circumstances. It might not seem like much but holding tight and not letting go is a feat to be admired and respected. You need to clear the ground around you before you can even think of moving forward. Here’s to those who are surviving. I applaud you.

We are Stephen and Fionnuala and this is our story. We live in Northern Ireland, have been married for 17 years and have three kids - Adam, Hannah and Rebecca. We hope that our story will inspire and encourage others. We have walked a rocky road yet here we are today, together and stronger than ever. We are far from perfect and our faith has been battered and bruised. But an untested faith is a pointless faith. Just as a fractured faith is better than none at all. We hope you enjoy the blog. That’s a message the protagonist in my WIP could certainly stand to here. And it rings true in real life!

We were having a conversation yesterday about resolutions. One guy had the best resolution by leaps and bounds. It was ‘to live to see 2021’.

Absolute truth. Of course I will press on for a prize, but finishing the race is reward enough. Sometimes making it to the starting line in one piece is a victory! Here’s to surviving!

I relate to this so much, but this year I plan to move past merely surviving and start LIVING.

Thank you for posting this. With all the ups and serious downs of the last year you’ve reminded me of the most fundamentally important fact, I’ve survived.

To whom faith is given the capacity of surviving is in essence thriving, one inch, one second, minute, hour at a time. Happy 2020, to you! Thank you for sharinf

I feel like you have just described the last ten years of my life. Not that it’s all been bad, but keeping up has been intense!
