Good Morning from Northern Ireland. This is how we roll.
What gets your part of the world excited?

We are Stephen and Fionnuala and this is our story. We live in Northern Ireland, have been married for 17 years and have three kids - Adam, Hannah and Rebecca.
We hope that our story will inspire and encourage others. We have walked a rocky road yet here we are today, together and stronger than ever. We are far from perfect and our faith has been battered and bruised.
But an untested faith is a pointless faith. Just as a fractured faith is better than none at all.
We hope you enjoy the blog.

At this time of year, snow in the forecast sends people into a frenzy. Bread and milk fly off the shelves at the grocery stores. Kids tune their media to sources announcing school closings and frenzied parents prepare to ‘hunker down’ for the duration. In fact, today we appear to be in for cold rain as the while stuff falls just north of us.

Trust me, snow is not that exciting when you have it for 3 months or more. So for me it’s the smell of freshly mown grass (which means Spring or Summer is here) and stepping on to the top of a mountain and taking in the views. 😊

As a Southern American I roll with a variety but mostly jammin’ alternative music; a happy winter garden of pansies, violas, and piolas; definitely if we get pure snow and not ice; and a great photographic capture.

Happy jammin music with a day full of blissful snow..as you said not ice, just snow. Totally agree!

Props of any kind – yes, I crave reinforcement. But the best these days, the thing that makes my heart happiest are hugs and kisses from my two-year-old grandson.

Yeah, I love snow because I don’t have to live or drive in it anymore. When I wake up in the morning and my legs and arms are moving, my toes wiggling – that excites me.😁

Bright sunshine on a bitter cold day. A snow day from the school where I work. A 1pm nap on that snow day. Tea and knitting while my honey reads.

Snow definitely gets us excited here. People go crazy and buy all the bread and milk in sight as if French Toast will save us from the snow apocalypse LOL.
People around here really like Billie Eilish as a singer.
Things that make me excited are sleeping in, reading a good book undisturbed while drinking a cup of tea.

Snow for sure. I’ve actually only witnessed snow once in my life thus far and it by far was the best. So blissful, pure and white. Maybe I enjoyed it because it was my first experience. I can’t say I would want to live in it, but the experience was amazing and memorable.

What gets people in my part of the world excited is seeing our CHIEFS appear in the Super Bowl for the FIRST TIME IN 50 YEARS!

Dutchies get excited by:
– finding money in a piece of clothing you haven’t worn in a while.
– coming home and realizing you won’t have to cook tonight.
– waking up to the song of a blackbird.
– Max Verstappen
– the moment we see ice forming on our canals (and the prospect of it getting strong enough for us to go for a skate).
