I’m Excited But Nervous

Good Morning. I’m an excited, but nervous, blogger today which finally sees the release in all formats of my second book, ‘The Kirkwood Scott Chronicles: A New Jerusalem.’ Excited because it’s the culmination of over a year’s hard work and nervous in case it sinks like a stone. The first book did so well that I’m dreading second album-itis when the entire world discovers I’m nothing but a one trick pony who got lucky first time round.

I don’t ask for much from my fellow bloggers but all support would be much appreciated. The new book carries on from Book One in the series ‘Skelly’s Square,’ as our misfit heroes battle a supernatural evil lurking on the back streets of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Kirkwood, Meredith and Harley must first, however, conquer their own inner demons before taking on the dastardly Augustus Skelly and his company of Napoleonic ghost soldiers

‘A New Jerusalem’ expands the Kirkwood Scott universe to new dimensions and introduces a host of fresh characters to love and loathe. While a supernatural fantasy it remains rooted by very real issues, tackling themes such as mental illness, addiction, and disability. It’s a tale with a conscience, a moral story with plenty of action, explosions and magic to keep everyone happy. I’m very excited about it as I truly believe it’s the best story I’ve ever told.

It’s now available in e-book and paperback format from your local Amazon site. You can also find ‘Skelly’s Square’ there which is also free to read if you’re a Kindle Unlimited subscriber. And don’t forget ‘Bomb Girl,’ a novella which links the two books together. Thank you again to those who continue to support my writing. I hope you enjoy the new book as much as you did the first and look forward to hearing your comments on it.

We are Stephen and Fionnuala and this is our story. We live in Northern Ireland, have been married for 17 years and have three kids - Adam, Hannah and Rebecca. We hope that our story will inspire and encourage others. We have walked a rocky road yet here we are today, together and stronger than ever. We are far from perfect and our faith has been battered and bruised. But an untested faith is a pointless faith. Just as a fractured faith is better than none at all. We hope you enjoy the blog.

  1. Oh my goodness! Congratulations, Stephen! How exciting! That’s got to be every writers dream: to be holding a box of books in your hands. Books that YOU have written with your very own heart. Amazing. 🙂 And don’t worry. Even if one line of this book resonates with someone: you have done your bit. You should be so proud. I’m proud to call you a bloggy buddy. 🙂
